The above "borrows" from "Mazlow's Pyramid" and, the work of Robbins Research International (I was at an in-person event some time ago and more), and a close friend or two!
This articulation of our needs is satisfying to me and has been aiding me to organize and express my related thoughts.
Our need for such as the sustenance of food & water coexists with a need for variety thereof (eating only apples day after day may not be as good as also eating oranges, bananas, vegetables, etcetera).
This is e'en quite true, historically and on average, with financial security ("Don't put all your eggs in one basket" with more examples of earnest people losing out to undiversified investment compared than rare examples of early and "all-in" investment panning out better "in the long run").
We additionally need to keep things somewhat "fresh" in our places of shelter (spring cleaning as a prime example) and with safety preparations and precautions we need to be sure to cover as many unfortunate plausibilities as reasonably possible.
Easy-going, friendly love may contrast with and e'en, at times, seem to be "at odds" with perhaps necessitated stern respect or admiring esteem yet each of these have become harmonizing, mutually furthering aspects of the greatness of love with sufficient wisdom, maturity, knowledge, so on.
Societal contributions on a level with Harriet Tubman's stalwart efforts for freedom (from slavery) cannot occur without prerequisite progress.
The Japanese principle of "kaizen", incremental progress, is directly related to this. The automobile company Toyota became respected for utilizing this. Similarly, Thomas Edison and associates failed to formulate a working alloy for a long-lasting lightbulb thousands of times before achieving this success, results of which are now visible worldwide in very many places and buildings.
